You can get an assist with Scale Animation (which moves the title media further along the direction axes). Animate Opacity for text that moves backwards in space. If you dial down the disclosure triangles, you can set how the text moves in any direction in 3D space (it is difficult to explain how the three axes work in conjunction with each other, so I recommend moving the playhead to about 15 frames from the beginning/end and watch how the text is effected on screen). Positive degree values move clockwise (negative move couterclockwise). Opacity affects the entire title, so you can fade in and fade out if you like (or need).ĭirection In and Out determine how the title animates into and out of the frame. The intent of the Drop Zone is to use a custom image as a title "page", but you can use any media you like (like "b-roll", etc.) Pan and Scale are provided to help "arrange" drop zone media within its bounds. ( some parameters reflect test usage - not defaults) All three of these layers parallel each other (they are part of the same animated group) and the animation parameter options affect all at once. A drop zone is always available and is filled with a default transparent PNG so as not to be visible until you decide to use it. The "Texture" (or so I gather - the "spots" in the background) was created from default material in Motion. If you need to change the font, the text size, color, etc., use the Text inspector (3D options a available from there as well). The text defaults to Hopper Script (available to *all* users of Final Cut Pro). Without ever seeing the original and based on what I saw in the video, this is my approach to a similar (but not exactly the same) type of title effect.
